Flamengo's debut in the competition will be next Wednesday (10), at 14 pm (Brasília time), against the Mexican team Cruz Azul, at the Ahmad bin Ali stadium. The winner receives the Derby das Américas champion trophy and qualifies to face Pyframids, from Egypt, on December 13, for the third phase. If they win both matches, Flamengo will face PSG in the Intercontinental final, which takes place on December 17.
While the main squad is in Doha, the Flamengo Under-20 team, mixed with some professional players, drew 3-3 with Mirassol last Saturday (6), at Maião, for the last round of the Brasileirão. Flamengo's goals were scored by Douglas Telles and Guilherme (2). It is worth remembering that the game was just to fulfill the schedule, as Mengão became nine-time champion with one round to spare, when they beat Ceará 1-0, last Wednesday (3), at Maracanã.
