Flamengo returns to the field for the Brasileirão this Wednesday (3), for the direct confrontation with Santos, who have two more points than Rubro-Negro in the classification table. The victory could be worth a place in the G-4. The ball rolls at 21:45 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá, in a game valid for the 18th round of the championship.
Mengão is riding high on a three-game winning streak, with Paolo Guerrero scoring in each. Coach Zé Ricardo's men have the best away record in the Brasileirão and are enjoying the team's second-best record in the competition's history.
Just three points behind the leader, depending on a combination of results, Mais Querido could even reach second place in this round if they beat the black and white team.
This Wednesday's interstate classic could still be historic: Flamengo is two goals away from scoring their 12th goal - only Santos itself reached the mark in Brazil.
