It's time for a new challenge for Flamengo. This Saturday afternoon (13), at 16 pm, Mais Querido returns to Maracanã to face Atlético-MG in an important duel valid for the first round of the Brazilian Championship.
After the 0-0 draw against Atlético-GO in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo returned to training at Ninho do Urubu. Zé Ricardo led tactical drills and gym work in preparation for their debut at the Maracanã.
Retrospect
Flamengo and Atlético-MG have faced each other 108 times in history, with 43 wins for Flamengo and 31 draws. Playing at home, Flamengo has 24 wins in 40 matches.
The last time these teams faced each other was on December 29, 2016, when the match ended in a 2-2 draw in the Brasileirão. Flamengo's goals were scored by Diego and Guerrero.
One of the historic matches between the teams in the Brazilian Championship was the 1980 final. After losing 1-0 at Mineirão, Flamengo played in front of 154.355 fans and won 3-2, with goals from Nunes (twice) and Zico. That was Flamengo's first title in the Brazilian Championship.
