In a thrilling derby, Flamengo and Botafogo drew 2-2 this Sunday at Maracanã. Flamengo's attack was on point once again, with Emerson and Adriano scoring for Flamengo. Alessandro and Renato scored for Botafogo. The result kept the team from Gávea in tenth place in the Brazilian Championship. In the next round, Flamengo faces Barueri in Rio de Janeiro.

The first half was quite eventful, with both teams constantly searching for a goal. Botafogo had their first big chance in the 18th minute, with Victor Simões heading dangerously in. Five minutes later, Victor Simões received the ball in the penalty area and shot against the crossbar.

In the 34th minute, Juninho took a powerful free kick, Bruno palmed it away, and Alessandro, who was offside, scored for Botafogo: 1-0 at the Maracanã. Two minutes later, Zé Roberto felt muscle pain and was replaced by Fierro. In the 40th minute, Kleberson took a corner from the left, and Adriano rose above the defense to equalize: 1-1. In the end, Adriano burst into the box, dribbled past Alessandro, and shot over Castillo's goal.

Cuca decided to make changes to his lineup, bringing on Guilherme Camacho and Maxi in place of Welinton and Airton. The changes improved Flamengo, who equalized in the 43rd minute through Emerson. The forward received the ball at the edge of the penalty area, dribbled past Alessandro and Lucio Flávio, and fired into Castillo's top corner: 2-2 at the Maracanã.
