On Sunday night (17), Flamengo drew 0-0 with Cuiabá, at Maracanã, in the 27th round of the Brasileirão. Now, Mais Querido changes its focus to the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil, where it will face Athletico-PR, on Wednesday (20), in Curitiba-PR.

The game
Flamengo started the match exchanging passes in attack and pressuring Cuiabá's attacking play. In the eighth minute, Michael found the net, but after a VAR check, the referee disallowed the goal because Matheuzinho was in an offside position. Cuiabá displayed strong marking and good movement among its attacking players.

In the 42nd minute, after a pass from Matheuzinho, Everton Ribeiro took a shot from inside the six-yard box, but Walter made the save. The first half ended with the red-and-black team dominating the action, but with Cuiabá sitting too deep and tying the game.

At the start of the second half, the situation changed little. Flamengo continued to attack, moving the ball around in search of space. Cuiabá, meanwhile, remained deep, waiting to counterattack. Patience and persistence were needed to break through the opposing defense. In the 11th minute, Michael attempted a powerful shot, but the goalkeeper saved.

Then, another good run from Michael on the left. The striker cleared the marker, but shot wide. The Red-Blacks tried until the last minute, but couldn't find the net and left Maracanã with the draw.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Wednesday (20) to face Athletico-PR, at 21:30 pm, at Arena da Baixada, in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-finals.
