Flamengo is defeated by Atlético-GO away from home
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Saturday (15) to face Coritiba, at Couto Pereira

Flamengo took to the field on Wednesday night (12), at the Estádio Olímpico de Goiânia, and was defeated by Atlético-GO by 3-0, in a match valid for the 2nd round of the Brazilian Championship.
O JOGO
The Mais Querido started the match with a flurry of passing, trying to get Atlético's defense involved. But it was the home side who opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Hyuri received a low cross from Ferrareis and deflected it into the net: 1-0. In the 32nd minute, Atlético extended their lead with Jorginho. The midfielder broke free from his marker and took a shot from the edge of the box. The ball went into Diego Alves' left corner: 2-0. Flamengo sought a comeback, and shortly after the ball was released, Gabigol received the ball inside the box and shot, but the ball grazed the post. Atlético-GO scored another goal, which was disallowed after a VAR review.
Flamengo came out with a different approach in the second half. In the 5th minute, Bruno Henrique launched Gabigol at speed. The number 9 fired a powerful shot, forcing the goalkeeper to make a good save. In the 10th minute, Flamengo created another threat. Everton Ribeiro reached the byline and crossed into the box. Rodrigo Caio appeared behind the defense and headed the ball wide.
In the 14th minute, Gabigol missed another chance to reduce the deficit. Although the red-and-black team came back stronger, Atlético-GO counterattacked and scored the third goal, through Ferrareis, in the 15th minute. In the 42nd minute, Bruno Henrique attempted a rocket from outside the box, but Jean made a great save. Diego Alves was also sent off late in the match.
