Flamengo improved in the second half, Marquinhos scored a beautiful goal, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 4-1 defeat.

Former Atlético Mineiro players shone, and Flamengo failed to return from Sete Lagoas, this Saturday (November 13.11th), with any points. Obina and Tardelli scored, Renan Oliveira added two more, and Galo beat the Gávea team 4-1 at Arena do Jacaré. Marquinhos, with a beautiful goal in an individual play, reduced the deficit for Vanderlei Luxemburgo's team.

The result, at first glance, doesn't change much for Flamengo, who remain in 13th place with 40 points. However, all the teams behind Flamengo in the standings will be playing this Sunday (November 14.11th). In the next round, Flamengo has a crucial match against Guarani on Saturday (November 20.11th) at the Engenhão stadium. The Campinas team has 36 points and is 17th, the first team in the relegation zone.

Galo jumps ahead with Obina
The first half began with Flamengo unfazed by the pressure from the crowd, playing as if they were at home. The first 15 minutes were dominated by the red-and-black team in Sete Lagoas. However, the team couldn't create scoring chances, while Atlético, when they attacked, posed a threat. Like in the 14th minute, when Rafael Cruz delivered a dangerous cross into the Flamengo area. A similar chance occurred with Leandro in the 20th minute, but Marcelo Lomba made the save.

The home team then grew into the game. At the 30-minute mark, Diego Souza headed strongly, forcing a save from Lomba. Four minutes later, however, the Flamengo goalkeeper couldn't hold onto a shot from Renan Oliveira, and the ball fell to Obina, who struck powerfully to open the scoring – but without celebrating, out of respect for the club where he shone brightest in Brazilian football. And at the 34-minute mark, the roles were reversed; Obina created the play and set up Renan for a clear shot on goal. Lomba tried to come out with his feet, but the Atlético Mineiro midfielder was quicker and pushed the ball into the net: 2-0.

Flamengo improves, but Atlético finishes the game off.
At halftime, needing a result, Luxemburgo decided to make three substitutions at once: he took off Diego Maurício, Correa, and Petkovic, bringing on Negueba, Marquinhos, and Val Baiano. And nine minutes later, the Flamengo team almost pulled one back. After a corner kick, Marquinhos headed the ball, but goalkeeper Renan made the save, and Rafael Cruz cleared the danger. At 13 minutes, another chance came with a shot from outside the area by the youngster Negueba.

But it was Atlético who scored again. In the 24th minute, another former Flamengo player, Diego Tardelli, made a great individual play and shot hard into the top corner, giving Marcelo Lomba no chance and extending the home team's lead to three goals. A minute later, Renan Oliveira dribbled past Marcelo Lomba and scored another: 4-0. In the 29th minute, Marquinhos made a beautiful individual play and reduced the deficit for Flamengo with a fantastic goal, but that was all. In the end, the victory went to the home team, 4-1.
