Facing the league leader and one of its potential opponents in a potential state semifinal, the Rubro-Negro team was defeated 7-3 by Petrópolis. Mancha, Xande (2), Marcinho (2), Bruno, and Conrado scored for the Petropolitans, while Jaxwell (2) and Henrique scored for the Rubro-Negro team. With the result, PEC remains undefeated in the qualifying phase, with 35 points. Flamengo remains in third place with 19. América has 17 and is in fourth place. To secure a spot in the semifinals, the Rubro-Negro, the reigning champion, must either lose to Vassouras, who are in fifth place with 14 points, or beat Cabo Frio, the runner-up, in the closing round of the first phase.
