The first Fla-Flu of the season ended all square! In a game played on Saturday afternoon (8), Flamengo ended up drawing with Fluminense 0-0, at Maracanã, in the 9th round of the Campeonato Carioca. Now, Mais Querido will have another classic ahead next Wednesday (12), when they face Botafogo, in a delayed match of the 7th round.

The game
The opening moments of the derby saw Fluminense dominate possession, pushing forward to pressure Flamengo in their own half. Before the ten-minute mark, Alex Sandro felt discomfort in his thigh and was replaced by Ayrton Lucas.

Little by little, the red-and-black team found its feet and began to even out possession. In the 20th minute, the Mais Querido (Team of the Match) made a good push. Ayrton Lucas won the challenge with Guga, went to the byline, and crossed back. Martinelli cleared the ball for a corner.

Throughout the first half, Flamengo continued to struggle to create chances, especially when passing through the Tricolor midfield. In the 35th minute, Erick took a corner kick, Cano managed to clear it, but the ball bounced back to his flip-flop for another cross. Bruno Henrique headed the ball wide of the post. In stoppage time, Flamengo pressed hard to score before halftime, but the score remained unchanged.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to dominate the attacking half and attempted to reach the Tricolor's penalty area through passing. In the 15th minute, coach Filipe Luiz made a double change. Michael and Plata were replaced by Juninho and Luiz Araújo, respectively.

The game continued with a lot of back-and-forth in the midfield, with both teams fighting for possession. In the 35th minute, Bruno Henrique attempted a play in the box, but the ball fell to Luiz Araújo, who fired a shot wide.

In the final minutes, the Mais Querido narrowly missed breaking the deadlock. Ayrton Lucas crossed into the box for Cebolinha to head into the corner. Fábio stretched out and managed to palm the ball away with his fingertips for a corner. The game ended at the Maracanã with a scoreless draw.
