In an away match, for the 35th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo drew with Fortaleza 0-0 this Tuesday (26), at Arena Castelão. The red-black team was better for much of the game, but was unable to convert the opportunities into goals. In the next round, Mais Querido faces Internacional at Maracanã.  

The game
Flamengo started the match valuing possession and trying to break into the attack through passing. In the 12th minute, the red-and-black team created a threat for the first time. Pulgar took a free kick into the box, and Bruno Henrique headed it unmarked. The ball hit the post.

Two minutes later, Gabi appeared well on the left side of the box and shot at goal, but the goalkeeper saved it. In the 32nd minute, Plata received the ball on the left wing, cut inside, and took a shot. The ball sailed just wide of the post.

On the attack, Mengão was awarded a penalty in the 38th minute. However, after a VAR review, Daronco overturned the penalty, finding that Marinho's arm was not open. The first half ended 0-0, but with Flamengo creating the better chances.

In the second half, coach Filipe Luís brought on De La Cruz for Gabi. Three minutes in, Gerson drove through the middle and took a shot from the edge of the box. João Ricardo jumped into the corner to make the save.

With ample possession, the Red-Blacks exchanged passes in the attacking half, looking for the final pass to score. In the 17th minute, the Red-Blacks blitzed the Fortaleza box. Pulgar delivered a great pass to Gerson, who flicked it on, and the ball fell to Michael to finish. João Ricardo saved from close range.

In the 21st minute, Erick Pulgar committed a hard foul on Marinho and received a second yellow card, resulting in his being sent off. With a man up, Fortaleza pushed forward in search of a goal, but the red-and-black team managed to clear the ball. In the 39th minute, Bruno Henrique crossed from the right, Alcaraz stepped up and deflected it with his right foot. The goalkeeper, once again, saved the home side.
 
In the final minutes, Fortaleza tried to apply the final pressure, but Flamengo managed to hold on at the back and left the field with the draw.

Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Sunday (1) to face Internacional, at 16 pm, at Maracanã, for the 36th round of the Brasileirão.
