In last Wednesday's match (18), against Fortaleza, the shirts of the red-black players had the LinkTel brand on the back, above the number. But this was just one of the benefits of Flamengo's new commercial partnership with the Wi-Fi access provider, present in more than 5 thousand points in Brazil and 15 thousand abroad. Thousands of members, non-members, athletes, fan club members and employees will benefit from the 'Wi-Fla' network, which will also reduce costs for the Rubro-Negro and generate revenue for the club, which will be shared with the partner. The initial project calls for five years of services at the Gávea headquarters, including the rowing headquarters, and the George Helal Training Center. Everything is expected to be installed at all three locations—without any installation, implementation, or maintenance costs—by the end of this year.
LinkTel provides services to Brazil's largest developments—malls, airports, subways, Rio de Janeiro's waterfront, and more—and now links its brand to Flamengo, the country's largest media platform. The club's Vice President of Information Technology, Luiz Filipe Teixeira, commented on the partnership.
"The club as a whole needed investment in technological infrastructure. Our Gávea data network is very old and needs to be modernized and increased in speed through dedicated links to prepare the club for new technological advances. Furthermore, we needed a significant investment to meet the demands of the training center, both in the professional and youth modules. With this partnership, we are delivering the logic and data ahead of schedule, without capital expenditure or construction, improving our infrastructure at the training center and also considering rowing. We have been modernizing Flamengo and we have to prepare the club for upcoming projects, such as eliminating very old servers and risks already identified in the audit, such as lack of backup and contingency of the club's technological structure, migrating our environment to run its entire technological environment on Cloud (data storage in the "cloud", with online accessibility) and this included a new ERP system to give even more quality to our management", he explained.
Vice President of Marketing, José Rodrigo Sabino, praised the agreement."The partnership between Flamengo and LinkTel, two leading players with a nationwide presence, once again demonstrates the club's strength as a media platform with broad reach and returns for its sponsors. We are confident that this will be a highly successful partnership for both parties," he stated.
