Flamengo and Negueba happy with renewal
The club and the young prospect signed an agreement in mid-November and are looking forward to a future of achievements.

It's not new that young Negueba, who started against Santos in the team's last professional match in 2010, on Sunday (05.12), at Vila Belmiro, has been valued in Gávea. Flamengo had already renewed, on November 17, the promising player's contract for five seasons. All to ensure that the youth academy player develops into a top player.
Concerned with protecting the young players from Gávea, Flamengo will maintain this approach with its talents and hopes to have many young players in its 2011 squad. Negueba will be one of them.
"He's a player who was promoted to the professional team this year after analyzing some reports from the youth academy, and in whom Flamengo has great confidence. Therefore, we decided to renew his contract with the club, extending his contract by five seasons. We're pleased with the agreement and also with the fact that the player has shown great happiness," said football director Luis Augusto Veloso.
Aware that he needs to show a lot of work to move beyond the label of a promising player to truly become an important player within Flamengo, Negueba promises a lot of dedication to the shirt.
"I can't celebrate without remembering all the effort I put in to get here. This makes me appreciate the realization of this dream even more and feel confident that I'm on the right path. I'm very happy with this step. I hope to do my job to the best of my ability and grow at this club that has always been my life. I will dedicate myself to establishing myself among the professionals and, although I know there is a lot of work ahead, I want to bring joy to the fans and win titles. I will do everything I can to make this happen," said the young man, through his press office.
And to continue the work carried out among the professionals at the end of 2010, Negueba 'dropped' a category and will return to play for the red-black under-20s. Flamengo debuts in the Brazilian Championship in the category this Monday (06.12), against Guarani, in Rio Grande do Sul, at 15:30 pm.
Negueba will not return to midfield, his position in the youth academy. Having been deployed to the attack by Luxemburgo during the senior squad, he will be retained by U-20 coach Paulo Henrique.
