Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, in partnership with Roxos e Doentes (a chain of stores specializing in soccer apparel), has signed an agreement to develop a new concept for club stores, aiming to expand into several Brazilian capitals. In early 2008, the project began with the opening of a Flamengo-themed store in Rio de Janeiro, which will feature an innovative and unprecedented concept in the soccer segment.
"Around R$800 will be invested in the project, earmarked for the store's construction and furnishing. With this, the club hopes to boost sales of official and licensed merchandise," reports Ricardo Hinrichsen, Flamengo's marketing director. According to him, the partnership with Roxos e Doentes means the club is resuming its own store development. "The partnership is the most comprehensive in the country, encompassing stores, franchises, mobile stores, and kiosks, among others. Finally, the largest chain of stores specializing in soccer in the country is joining forces with Brazil's largest club," he emphasizes.
For Eduardo Rosemberg, managing partner of the Roxos e Doentes chain, the initiative meets the fans' expectations. "This is an opportunity to return all the affection that the red-and-black fans have always given to the club," he adds.
