In the second leg of the Conmebol Recopa, Flamengo beat Independiente Del Valle 1-0 on Tuesday night (28), at Maracanã. Arrascaeta, in the 50th minute of the second half, scored the goal that took the match to extra time. The score remained the same and the decision went to penalties, being won by Del Valle 5-4. With the result, Rubro-Negro is the runner-up of the competition.

The game
Needing to overturn the first leg's result, Flamengo started the match looking to attack from the opening minutes. In the 13th minute, the red-and-black team created their first good play. Everton Ribeiro delivered a perfect cross to Pedro, who headed the ball past the goalkeeper. Mengão was pressing their opponents in their own half.

In the 19th minute, a complaint was made about a handball by Caicedo in the box, but after a VAR review, the referee allowed play to continue. In the 30th minute, Flamengo nearly opened the scoring. Arrascaeta took a free kick from the right, and Fabrício Bruno headed it. David Luiz avoided the clearance and passed it to Thiago Maia, who took a chance and the ball hit the post.

Next, Everton Ribeiro sent Ayrton Lucas into the box, and the full-back headed the ball firmly against the crossbar. In the final minute of the first half, Everton Ribeiro crossed into the box and Arrascaeta, with freedom, rose to head the ball. The ball grazed the post. Despite the Rubro-Negro's good chances, the teams went into halftime with the score 0-0.

The second half began with Flamengo moving the ball from foot to foot, looking for space in Del Valle's defense. Vitor Pereira's team tried to get balls into the box, but the Ecuadorians managed to cut them out and left little space in defense.

In the 46th minute, Arrascaeta lifted the ball into the box, and David Luiz headed it firmly over the goal. Then, in the last minute of stoppage time, Mengão scored the winning goal! Gabigol lifted the ball to Cebolinha, who threatened a shot and passed it to the middle. Arrascaeta found himself free and tapped it into the net: 1-0.

With a one-goal margin, the match went into overtime, but the score remained the same. The decision went to penalties, and Independiente Del Valle won 5-4, becoming the CONMEBOL Recopa champion.
