Playing away from home, in the fourth round of Group E of the Libertadores, Flamengo was defeated by Palestino by 1 to 0, this Wednesday (7), at the Francisco Rumoroso stadium, in Chile. The red-black team will still play two games at Maracanã for the South American competition.

The game
The match started evenly, with both teams looking to maximize possession. In the 10th minute, Flamengo made its first good move. Pedro intercepted a ball in midfield, sprinted, and attempted a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went wide. Five minutes later, Bruno Henrique controlled the ball with his chest and attempted a long-range shot. The ball rose and went out for a goal kick.

Little by little, the red-and-black team tried to gain ground and reach Palestino's box more often. In the 26th minute, Cebolinha took a corner kick into the box, the ball reached Gerson, who fired a first-time shot over the goal. Palestino grew in the match and began to threaten more. In the 34th minute, Cebolinha made a good play, dribbling past two players, and shot with his left foot, which the goalkeeper made a good save. With the red-and-black team dominating in the final minutes, the teams went into halftime without changing the score.

Early in the second half, Flamengo narrowly missed out on the opening goal. After a long ball, Bruno Henrique found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but Rigamonti flew into the corner and made the save.

A few minutes later, the red-and-black team created another great chance. De La Cruz received the ball inside the box, turned, and shot, but the goalkeeper saved. Pedro passed the ball to Bruno Henrique, who was free in the six-yard box, but the number 27 shot wide.

Despite the red-and-black pressure, Palestino opened the scoring with a stunning goal. After a corner, the ball fell to Cornejo, who took it first time from outside the box and found the top corner of Rossi's net: 1-0. On the field, Luiz Araújo received the ball from Pedro and fired a shot into the corner. The ball grazed the post before going out. It was almost a draw for the red-and-blacks.

In the 36th minute, Cebolinha crossed to Gabigol, but the striker headed over the bar. The game ended in Chile with a defeat for Tite's team.
