In the Clássico dos Milhões, valid for the 5th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo drew with Vasco 0-0 this Saturday (19), at Maracanã. The red-black team was superior throughout the match, but came up against goalkeeper Léo Jardim, who was having an inspired night and saved the Cruzmaltino team.

The game
The ball started rolling at the Maracanã Stadium, and Flamengo attacked within less than a minute. Bruno Henrique received the ball on the left and crossed low to Gerson, who shot over the bar. Vasco responded with a shot that hit the post from Paulo Henrique.

The game was open in the opening minutes, with both teams looking to attack. In the seventh minute, Flamengo once again created a threat. Arrascaeta delivered a beautiful pass to Michael in the box, who fired a well-placed shot that Léo Jardim saved. In the 14th minute, Rossi saved Flamengo's shot with a superb save from Nuno Moreira.

Flamengo responded in the 21st minute. De La Cruz crossed from the left and Gerson headed powerfully. Léo Jardim jumped to make a good save and prevent the red-and-black goal. Flamengo then created another dangerous opportunity. Gerson received the ball in the middle and chipped it to Bruno Henrique, who sent it back first time. The red-and-black captain was lucky, but the ball went up and out for a goal kick.

In the final minutes of the first half, Michael crossed into the box, and Gerson narrowly avoided heading it into the net. Flamengo was superior, had more possession, created chances, and could have gone into halftime with a partial victory.

The second half continued to be a lively affair, with Flamengo dominating the attacking half and Vasco waiting to launch counterattacks. Around the 15th minute, Filipe Luís made three substitutions. Ayrton Lucas, Michael, and Bruno Henrique were replaced by Varela, Cebolinha, and Plata, respectively.

In the 26th minute, Cebolinha took a corner kick into the box and Plata headed it just over the crossbar. Soon after, Wesley crossed into the box, Pedro headed it into the corner, and Léo Jardim performed a miracle, saving the Cruzmaltina team once again.

In the final stretch, the red-and-black team went all out in search of the winning goal. In the 43rd minute, Arrascaeta received the ball at the edge of the box and passed it to Pedro. The number 9 took the ball to his left foot and, as he was about to shoot, saw the defense clear it. In stoppage time, Cebolinha almost scored with a header, and Léo Jardim made another great save. The 0-0 draw remained at Maracanã.
