Flamengo and Vasco face each other again in the semifinals of the first half of the season

After deciding their place in the Guanabara Cup final, rivals meet before the Rio Cup final

With all the group stage rounds completed, it's time for the knockout stage of the Rio Cup. The Clássico dos Milhões will be the stage for the final for one of the spots in the second round of the 2017 Campeonato Carioca.

Flamengo trained all week at the George Helal Training Center and will return to work this Friday (7) to finalize the details before the big classic.

Vasco and Flamengo have faced each other on the field since 1922. They have played 230 matches in the Campeonato Carioca, with 90 wins for Flamengo and 63 draws. The last meeting took place two weeks before the semifinal and ended in a 2-2 draw.

The rivals have faced each other in the semifinals of Rio de Janeiro's first-round matches eight times. Flamengo won six of them: the 2001 Guanabara Cup (1-0), the 2004 Guanabara Cup (2-0), the 2007 Guanabara Cup (1-1, with a penalty shootout victory), the 2008 Guanabara Cup (2-1), the 2010 Rio Cup (2-1), and the 2017 Guanabara Cup (1-0). In the 2000s, there were 17 knockout clashes. Flamengo won 12 of them.
