Flamengo draws 2-2 with Atlético-MG, but loses on penalties in the Brazilian Super Cup final

In the Brazilian Super Cup final, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Atlético-MG on Sunday afternoon (20), at Arena Pantanal, during normal time. The red-black goals were scored by Gabi and Bruno Henrique. In the penalty shootout, the Minas Gerais team won 8-7.

The game
The match started off fiercely contested, with a fierce battle for possession. In the 12th minute, Bruno Henrique attempted a counterattack, and Nathan Silva handled the ball. The referee didn't call the foul and allowed play to continue. In the 17th minute, Arrascaeta received the ball inside the box and crossed low to Gabi, but the ball was too powerful and the striker couldn't finish.

Next, after a corner kick from Everton Ribeiro, Fabrício Bruno rose high with a header that skimmed the post. In the 27th minute, Flamengo created another great opportunity. The match ended in a draw, and the decision went to penalties.

In a thrilling penalty shootout, Atlético-MG ended up prevailing and winning 8-7.
