Flamengo draws with Boavista in the State Championship debut
Mais Querido started in front, but ended up giving up the tie

Flamengo ended up drawing in the State Championship debut. This Saturday (30), the red-black team tied with Boavista: 1-1. Guerrero scored the goal for Mais Querido, still in the first half. The next match for Rubro-Negro will be on Wednesday (03/02), against Macaé, 21:45 pm, away from home.
Supported by the nation, Flamengo took the initiative from the opening whistle. With a modified lineup compared to its Primeira Liga debut, the Mais Querido didn't feel the lack of chemistry with Chiquinho's introduction on the left wing. Guerrero and Marcelo Cirino, who demonstrated excellent understanding in the victory against Galo, once again troubled the opposing defense with their intense movement.
Flamengo created several chances before scoring the opening goal of the match. With Rodinei and Willian Arão heavily involved, Marcelo Cirino, Guerrero, and Chiquinho emerged as the prime candidates for shots. In the best of them, Guerrero received the ball from Arão in the 24th minute and shot low, which the opposing goalkeeper made a great save. Six minutes later, the same Arão fed Mengão's number 9, who fired a powerful shot into the top corner to open the scoring, giving the Mais Querido a partial lead.
At halftime, Willian Arão highlighted Muricy Ramalho's instructions to present himself in the attacking field and help with assists and infiltrations:
"Without the ball I'm a defensive midfielder, with it Muricy asks me to play as a midfielder. I'm trying to get forward to try and pass the ball to the goal," he highlighted.
The second half began at a slower pace. Punished by the intense heat in Edson Passos and with the advantage on the scoreboard, Flamengo's players began to pace the match more. The temperature even forced the refereeing team to stop play in both halves to allow the players to hydrate.
Without creating many opportunities, the Red-Blacks ended up conceding an equalizer. Leandrão, in the 32nd minute, rose to score Boavista's goal, sealing the final score of the match.
