In the sixth round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Ceará on Saturday afternoon (14), at Castelão. The two goals of the Mais Querido were scored by Willian Arão. With the result, Rubro-Negro reached six points in the championship.

The game
Flamengo started the match already posing a threat to Ceará's goal. Two minutes in, Arrascaeta burst into the box from the left, cut inside, and struck a powerful shot. João Ricardo palmed it forward, and Bruno Henrique sent the rebound over the bar.

In the 7th minute, Mengão opened the scoring at Castelão! Arrascaeta took a corner kick from the left, Arão moved intelligently at the near post and headed the ball in to score the first goal: 0-1.  

In the 25th minute, Ceará equalized! Zé Roberto took a quick free kick and passed it to Mendoza, who appeared free on the left to score: 1-1. Ceará reacted quickly and scored the second! Arrascaeta took a free kick from the left and Arão again headed it in to take the lead: 1-2.

Early in the second half, Flamengo nearly scored a third. Arrascaeta lifted a free kick into the box, Pablo headed it firmly, and the ball hit the crossbar. Flamengo continued to dominate possession and exchanged passes in the attacking half.

As the second half progressed, Ceará grew in the game and threatened the red-and-black goal more. Flamengo, meanwhile, tried to hold the ball up front to avoid suffering defensively. In the 35th minute, Matheuzinho made a crucial clearance on the line and prevented the home team from equalizing.  

At 46', Nino Paraíba took a perfect free kick and tied the game for Ceará: 2-2. The game ended all square at Castelão.

Next appointment
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Tuesday (17) to face Universidad Católica-CHI, at 21:30 pm, in the group stage of the Libertadores.
