Heading to the final! In the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinals, Flamengo drew 0-0 with Corinthians on Sunday afternoon (20) at Neo Química Arena, securing their place in the national tournament's final. Now, Mengão will face Atlético-MG in the title race.

The game
The match began with both teams scrutinizing each other and fighting for possession. Needing to turn the score around, Corinthians pushed forward from the first minute. Flamengo, on the other hand, kept the ball on the ground and tried to exchange passes in attack.

In the eighth minute, Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, and Alex Sandro headed it into the goal. However, after a VAR review, the referee ruled the left-back offside. In the 22nd minute, Arrascaeta advanced down the right and was brought down by Gustavo Henrique, who received a yellow card. The following minute, Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, and the defense struggled to clear it. The ball bounced in front of Hugo Souza and was kicked forward.

In the 27th minute, Bruno Henrique's foot flew too high and hit Matheuzinho's head. The Flamengo striker received a red card, leaving Flamengo with ten men. As a result, Corinthians launched an attack looking for a quick goal.

Even down a man, the red-and-black team managed to retain possession in attack. With Fabrício Bruno replacing Gabi, Léo Ortiz began to play more as a defensive midfielder, thus strengthening the midfield. The first half ended goalless in Itaquera.

After halftime, Ayrton Lucas came on for Alex Sandro. Early on, De La Cruz felt muscle discomfort and was replaced by Alcaraz. Corinthians continued to attack, trying to open the scoring. In the 11th minute, Rossi made a good save from Yuri Alberto's shot.

Flamengo soon created a threat. Gerson provided a good through ball to Wesley, and the full-back fired a shot that Hugo Souza palmed out for a corner. In the 26th minute, Gerson called for a handball inside the box, and the referee allowed play to continue. VAR wasn't even able to call for a review.

In the final stretch, the red-and-black team managed to maintain possession in the attacking half, despite being a man down. In the 40th minute, Gerson received the ball at the edge of the box, cut through the defense, and fired a shot. The ball went over the goal. Flamengo was valiant, and despite having a player sent off, held on to the draw until the final whistle and secured a spot in the Copa do Brasil final to face Atlético-MG.
