By Manuela Tostes - inFlamengo drew 1-1 with Estudiantes on Wednesday night (29), at the Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium, for the 3rd round of the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores. The game
The match started with Estudiantes imposing their will, pressing with long balls and maintaining a strong presence in the attacking third. Flamengo, on the other hand, showed efficiency when given space.
In the 33rd minute, Leonardo Jardim's team opened the scoring with a play built with speed and precision. Samuel Lino found Bruno Henrique with a beautiful through ball, and the striker passed to Luiz Araújo, who, alone on the right, tapped the ball into the open net. This was the number 7's third goal of the season.
The play also extended an important record for Bruno Henrique: the striker reached 44 direct goal involvements in the history of the Copa Libertadores, becoming the Brazilian with the most contributions in the competition.
Before halftime, Flamengo also had to deal with the departure of Arrascaeta, who, at 21 minutes, left the field after a challenge and was taken to the hospital, where a fracture in his right clavicle was confirmed.
Returning for the second half, Estudiantes increased the pressure and began to occupy more of the attacking field. The equalizer came after a series of plays inside the area, at 10 minutes, with Carrillo taking advantage of the rebound after a save by Rossi: 1-1.
Furthermore, there were complaints about possible cards not being shown in plays involving Emerson Royal and Bruno Henrique, increasing the tension in the match.
In the final minutes, the Argentinian team continued to press, but were thwarted by good saves from Rossi, who secured the draw away from home.
With this result, Flamengo reaches seven points and remains in the lead of Group A of the Conmebol Libertadores. Estudiantes is in second place with five points, while Independiente Medellín (1) and Cusco (0) complete the group.
