In a match valid for the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo drew with Grêmio 1-1 this Wednesday (19), at Maracanã. The goal of Mais Querido was scored by Gabigol, in a penalty kick in the 43rd minute of the final stage.

O JOGO
The first half started fairly evenly, with Grêmio pressing Mengão's ball out. Gradually, Flamengo improved possession and began exchanging passes in the attacking half. The first good chance came in the 13th minute. Everton Ribeiro received the ball on the right edge of the penalty area, dribbled past two defenders, and shot toward goal. The ball sailed over the crossbar.

Grêmio tried to attack, but the Rubro-Negro were well-positioned and managed to neutralize key plays. In the 39th minute, Grêmio had a great opportunity. Cortez crossed from the left, Diego Souza headed the ball to Alisson, who shot wide. In the 44th minute, Grêmio opened the scoring. Alisson found Pepê in the penalty area, the forward came face-to-face with Diego Alves, and unleashed the bombshell: 1-0.

Early in the second half, Grêmio missed a great chance to extend their lead with Diego Souza, who received the ball in the box and shot wide. Flamengo tried to attack but struggled to break down the opposing defense, which was tightly packed. In the 29th minute, Vitinho took a shot from outside the box, but the ball went just wide.

In the 40th minute, with the help of VAR, referee Rafael Traci saw a handball inside the box by defender Kannemann and awarded a penalty in favor of Mais Querido. Gabigol took the penalty and tied the game: 1-1.

The Most Beloved returns to the field next Sunday (23) for the Rio derby against Botafogo. The match, valid for the fifth round of the Brasileirão, will be held at 11 am, at Maracanã.
