In the second leg of the Copa do Brasil final, Flamengo drew 1-1 with São Paulo this Sunday (24), at Morumbi. Bruno Henrique scored the red-black goal in the match. With the draw, Rubro-Negro finished the national competition in second place.
The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack. Less than a minute later, Gerson beat Arboleda in the air, and the ball fell to Pedro, who burst into the box and shot from a poor angle. Rafael challenged the striker, and the ball went out for a goal kick.
In the 18th minute, Flamengo again came into the game. Ayrton Lucas delivered a good pass to Gerson, who cut inside Beraldo and shot. Rafael saved with his feet. Flamengo continued to attack. In the 40th minute, Pedro received the ball in space and fired a shot into the top corner. The ball went over the goal.
Mengão then opened the scoring at Morumbi. Pedro passed the ball to Erick, who fired a cross. The goalkeeper deflected it, and the ball hit the post and bounced back onto Bruno Henrique's knee before going in: 1-0.
In stoppage time, São Paulo leveled the score. Wellington Rato took a free kick into the box, Rossi punched it away, and Rodrigo Nestor took a first-time shot into the left corner: 1-1. The first half ended in a draw.
In the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure São Paulo, maintaining possession. In the eighth minute, Gerson received the ball at the edge of the box and shot. The ball deflected off Beraldo and went out for a corner. Flamengo took a short shot, and Arrascaeta crossed into the box, but Pedro headed over the bar.
In the 23rd minute, Arrascaeta took a free kick to the far post, and Léo Pereira got behind the defense and shot first time, but it went wide. In the final stretch of the game, the red-and-black team pushed forward, while São Paulo waited behind to launch a counterattack.
In stoppage time, Ayrton Lucas cut through the defense, got past Rafinha, and fired a shot into the bottom right corner. Rafael made the save. Flamengo pushed for a second goal until the last minute, but failed. With the draw, Flamengo finished as runners-up in the Copa do Brasil.
