In the fourth round of the Libertadores group stage, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Unión La Calera this Tuesday (11), at the Nicolás Chahuán Nazar Stadium, in Chile. The goals for the Most Beloved were scored by Gabigol, from a penalty, and Willian Arão. With the result, Rubro-Negro added ten points and remains in sole leadership of Group G.

The game
Flamengo started the first half passing the ball around, trying to adapt as quickly as possible to the artificial turf. But La Calera took the lead in the eighth minute through Ariel Martínez: 1-0. In the 16th minute, the red-and-black team threatened for the first time through Gabigol, who received the ball inside the box and shot powerfully, but the goalkeeper saved.

In the 19th minute, Arrascaeta took a shot from outside the box, but the ball bounced on the turf before Arias palmed it away. The Chilean team doubled their lead in the 26th minute with Wiemberg, following a corner kick. In the 28th minute, Everton Ribeiro was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Gabigol stepped up to take the shot and only displaced the goalkeeper to score Flamengo's first goal: 2-1.

After closing the gap, La Calera began to press harder in search of an equalizer in the first half. Arrascaeta found himself unmarked on a cross from the right and headed powerfully toward goal, forcing Arias to palm it away. In the last minute, Bruno Henrique crossed, and Arão, inside the box, struck powerfully, but the ball sailed over the goal.

The Rubro-Negro team came out more focused in the second half and began to accelerate the game, exchanging passes in the attacking half. In the 15th minute, after a good triangle between Pedro, Gabi, and Arrascaeta, the Uruguayan received the ball at the edge of the box and shot, looking for the corner of Arias's goal. The ball went just wide of the post.

The Flamengo team threatened, especially down the left flank. After persistently pushing, Mengão equalized. Arrascaeta took a corner kick from the right, Willian Arão rose to the center of the box and headed the ball into the back of the net: 2-2. Flamengo searched for the winning goal until the last minute, but the match ended in a draw.

Next appointment
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Saturday (15) to face Fluminense, at 21:05 pm, at Maracanã, for the first game of the finals of the Campeonato Carioca.
