The game
Flamengo started the match controlling possession and occupying the attacking half. Just 8 minutes in, they opened the scoring with Pedro. After a play down the left flank, the striker challenged the opposing defense inside the penalty area, won the ball, and finished powerfully to make it 1-0.
With the advantage, Flamengo continued to be more present in attack, exchanging passes and looking for spaces against a more withdrawn Vasco side. Still in the first half, they created further opportunities, but failed to extend their lead.
In the second half, Flamengo scored again. In the 14th minute, Jorginho converted a penalty won by Pedro, making it 2-0.
After the second goal, Vasco started to take more risks in attack and managed to reduce the deficit from a set piece. Then, in stoppage time, they equalized after a cross into the box and a finish inside the six-yard box. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
