Flamengo draws with Volta Redonda in the Rio Cup
Mais Querido created the best chances, but was unable to break through the opponent's defense.

With a significantly changed team, Flamengo returned to the field on Saturday night (16) to face Volta Redonda, and was unable to break through the Vale do Aço team's defense. The Mais Querido pressed, created the best chances, had a goal wrongly disallowed at the end, but the goalless draw persisted until the final whistle.
First time
Flamengo started the match relying on pace and had a great opportunity to open the scoring in the sixth minute. After Ronaldo struck hard, the ball fell to Uribe, and the number 20's attempt ended up for a corner after deflecting off a defender.
With the majority of possession throughout the first half, the Mais Querido managed to create numerous opportunities, but the ball stubbornly refused to go in. In the 37th minute, the opposing goalkeeper was out of position, and the ball fell to De Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan took the first touch and nearly scored a stunning goal.
Second time
Volta Redonda maintained its defensive posture, and Flamengo continued to push for a goal, which nearly came through Miguel Trauco. In the 15th minute, the Peruvian took a masterful free kick, and Douglas Borges pulled off a miracle save. The only chance the opponent had fell to Marcelo, but Gabriel Batista made a great save and sent the ball out for a corner.
With the nation's unwavering support, Rubro-Negro pressed the entire time, and Uribe had the best chance. Arrascaeta's cross was struck by the Colombian, who hit the Volta Redonda crossbar. On the next play, the Uruguayan attempted a lob, but Douglas Borges saved the opponent again.
The Mais Querido managed to find the back of the net with Hugo Moura in the 46th minute of the second half. However, the assistant referee saw offside where there was none and disallowed the number 17's goal.
