Flamengo draws with Resende on a night of Dourado's great goal and double debut
De Arrascaeta and Gabriel wear the Mantle for the first time and perform well

Flamengo drew 1-1 with Resende this Wednesday in Volta Redonda in the second round of the Taça Guanabara, reaching four points in the competition and finishing second in Group C. Henrique Dourado scored the red-and-black goal in the first half with a sensational overhead kick. In the next round, Flamengo faces the derby against Botafogo at the Engenhão stadium at 17 pm on Saturday.
The match marked the debuts of De Arrascaeta and Gabriel Barbosa for the red-and-black team. The Uruguayan performed well in the first half and contributed to Dourado's goal, providing a beautiful pass that Trauco assisted. Gabriel moved around a lot, but didn't receive many passes to attempt a finish. The number nine stayed until the end of the match.
The first half was lively in Volta Redonda. Resende's team pushed forward and pressured Flamengo early on, and by the 12th minute had already created two dangerous attacks. Abel Braga's significantly modified team took a while to find its feet and fell behind. In the 18th minute, Joseph rose high from a corner kick and opened the scoring.
Immediately after the goal, the referee stopped the game to allow the players to hydrate, and upon resuming, Flamengo equalized. And not just equalized. It was a stunning goal! Arrascaeta played a pass to Trauco, the full-back crossed, and Henrique Dourado curled in a stunning overhead kick to level the score. With the goal and time, Flamengo improved and dominated the field. Trauco, who was very good in the match, nearly scored another stunning goal with a spectacular shot from midfield that nearly caught goalkeeper Ranule by surprise. And so ended the first half.
The team returned from the locker room unchanged. Six minutes in, the stadium floodlights went out, and the match was halted for nearly twenty minutes. When play resumed, the teams took a while to heat up again. Abel Braga made two changes, taking off Jean Lucas and De Arrascaeta and bringing on Vitinho and Thiago Santos, respectively. Matheus Dantas felt the pressure and came off, making way for Cuéllar.
Near the end, Vitinho tried from distance to surprise the goalkeeper and almost scored a great goal, but the ball capriciously went over. A minute later, the same Vitinho took a dangerous free kick, but the ball, again, didn't go in. And so it ended.
