Flamengo drew with São Paulo this Sunday (19), in a game valid for the FC Series. The friendly game in the United States was marked by Flamengo's possession of the ball and rotation of the squad.

The game

Flamengo started the match valuing possession and putting a lot of pressure on the opposing team. The first good attack came in the 9th minute, when Wesley sprinted after a De La Cruz pass, but the goalkeeper saved the shot.

In the 12th minute, Erick had a second chance, firing a powerful shot from distance, but the opposing goalkeeper saved it. São Paulo had a chance 10 minutes later, Lucas Moura, but Léo Ortiz blocked it.

The match slowed down from then on, but in the 40th minute, São Paulo attacked again with Ferreirinha crossing to Calleri, who headed the ball powerfully, but Rossi made a fine save to prevent the goal. Soon after, in the 44th minute, Wesley crossed to Alcaraz, who headed the ball into the corner, but Andrei made a great save. The referee then blew the final whistle for the first half. 

Flamengo changed practically the entire team. The second half started with a bang, with Flamengo defender Cleiton heading the ball wide after a corner kick in the first minute. In the 4th minute, the opposing team had a chance with a shot from the edge of the Bobadilla box, which went wide of the right side of the goal.

Just like the first half, the game slowed down after the opening minutes. Flamengo held possession for much of the half, but without much danger. It wasn't until the 29th minute that São Paulo created a threat with Erick, who shot the ball, but it was deflected wide. 

After 20 minutes the referee blew the whistle to end the game. 0-0 on the scoreboard.
