Flamengo draws 1-1 with Fluminense in the Carioca final

In the second game of the Cariocão final, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Fluminense on Saturday night (2), at Maracanã. The Mais Querido's goal was scored by Gabi in the first half. With the result, Rubro-Negro finished the championship in second place.
The game
Flamengo started the match by taking the initiative and going on the attack. Fluminense, on the other hand, stayed back and exploited counterattacks. In the eighth minute, Andreas took a long-range shot that went wide. Arrascaeta then took a corner kick, and Gustavo Henrique headed dangerously.
In the 28th minute, Mengão opened the scoring to the delight of the nation! Hugo launched the ball from the defensive half, and Bruno Henrique headed it in. The ball fell to Arrascaeta, who spun around Manoel, advanced down the left, and crossed perfectly for Gabi to tap home: 1-0. It was the ninth goal for the Cariocão's top scorer.
After the goal, Fluminense continued to press their opponents. In the 40th minute, Arrascaeta got the ball on the right, advanced, and struck a well-placed shot. The ball flew past Fábio's post. In the 43rd minute, Fluminense equalized through Cano: 1-1. The first half ended all square.
The second half began with a high level of intensity, with both teams looking for high-tempo plays. In the 10th minute, Arrasca took a corner kick, and João Gomes headed the ball toward the near post. The ball went just wide of Fábio's post.
In the 15th minute, after consulting VAR, the referee signaled a handball by Filipe Luís inside the box. Cano stepped up to take the shot, and Hugo saved it! In the 20th minute, Pedro received the ball at the edge of the box and struck hard. Goalkeeper Fábio made the save.
In the final stretch, Flamengo kept attacking, searching for a second goal. Despite their efforts, the game ended in a draw at the Maracanã, and the title went to the Tricolor.
