Flamengo drew 1-1 with Goiás, on Sunday night (11), at the Hailé Pinheiro stadium, away from home, closing the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. After conceding Diego's goal, which opened the scoring for the opponent in the 34th minute of the second half, Matheus França made it all equal in the 38th minute.

Now, the team returns to the field for the Copa do Brasil, this Wednesday (14), at Maracanã, for the second leg of the semifinals, against São Paulo.

The game

The home side had the first chances to open the scoring in the first 10 minutes. In the 12th minute, Flamengo created a threat with a play built on the left: David Luiz played Cebolinha through, but the number 19 hesitated in his attempt to dribble past the goalkeeper and passed to Victor Hugo, who was blocked as he attempted to score. A few minutes later, Everton Ribeiro found Matheuzinho inside the box with a perfect pass, but the full-back couldn't get the shot off. In the 24th minute, Flamengo pushed forward with a strong counterattack led by Ribeiro, who passed to Marinho; the striker tried his luck from outside the box but misplaced the ball, which went out for a goal kick. In the 33rd minute, after a good exchange of passes from Flamengo, Matheuzinho fired a powerful shot, but the ball deflected for a corner. The opposition responded with a cross from Diego, from the right, which glanced off Santos's post.
