Flamengo went out to play this Tuesday (28.09) in Goiânia, against Goiás, and, once again with grit, managed to come back with a point in their luggage. The Rio de Janeiro red-black team conceded a goal at the beginning of the second half, after dominating the first, but managed to equalize in the final minutes, with a beautiful shot from striker Deivid.
With this result, the current Brazilian champion has 29 points, in 15th place in the table. In the next round, Saturday (02.10), at 18:30 pm, at Engenhão, the opponent will be Botafogo.
Sad about the draw, which wasn't a good result for Flamengo in the championship, but happy to see everyone's dedication on the field, Deivid believes that the fighting spirit must be maintained in all the other games, for the full 90 minutes.
"We knew this match was very important. We had to get the three points to get away from them (Goiás) and get closer to the top of the table. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal, but we fought back. We can't hide in difficult times. The great players always show up in these moments," said the number 99.
In the first half, Flamengo managed to maintain more possession than their opponents. However, despite pushing Goiás hard, the Red-Blacks failed to convert their dominance into scoring chances. Only two shots from midfielder Renato Abreu did the reigning Brazilian champions threaten Goiás' goalkeeper, Harlei.
Goiás had only one good chance in the first half. However, striker Felipe was stopped by Flamengo goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba.
Halftime came, neither team made any changes, but the score would soon change. At first, it seemed to be in Flamengo's favor, as they nearly scored on a Kleberson finish following a Correa cross, but the home team prevailed.
One of the problems Flamengo players identified during the 2010 Brasileirão resurfaced: conceding goals early in matches. It wasn't just at the start of a match, but rather in the second half. After racing down the left, Carlos Alberto crossed, and Jean, trying to clear, ended up finishing for Flamengo's goal.
Flamengo's dominance continued and Goiás was only concerned with scoring and counter-attacking, especially after the expulsion of striker Rafael Moura, who left his arm in Maldonado's face in a challenge.
Even with an extra man on the field, the Rio de Janeiro Red-Blacks were unable to equalize the match, despite creating good chances. Everything seemed to be heading for a Goiás victory, but not for the Red-Blacks. After a long struggle, Deivid received a ball at the edge of the box and took a chance. The shot went past the defense and into the right corner of goalkeeper Harlei's net. Full time: 1-1.
