Flamengo faces Penarol in Group D of Conmebol Libertadores
Draw sees red-black travel to Uruguay, Ecuador and Bolivia in the first phase

Flamengo has already decided its path in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup. On Monday night, CONMEBOL drew the groups for the 61st edition of the competition at the company's headquarters in Luque, Paraguay. The 2019 competition will begin on January 22nd and end on November 23rd. The champion is assured a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Flamengo, second in the Brazilian Championship, was in Pot 2, alongside Athletico Paranaense, Cerro Porteño, San Lorenzo, Emelec, Internacional, Univesidad Católica, and Sporting Cristal. São Paulo, Cruzeiro, Palmeiras, Grêmio, and Atlético Mineiro are the other Brazilian teams in the competition.
When it came to the finals, Flamengo faced a Uruguayan, an Ecuadorian, and a Bolivian team. No Brazilians made it into the first round. Drawn to Group 4, Flamengo faces top-seeded Peñarol, LDU Quito, and a yet-to-be-determined Bolivian team—San José and Royal Pari will decide the match.
