The 2024 season is about to kick off! On Tuesday morning (16), Flamengo finalized its preparations for its debut in the Campeonato Carioca against Audax Rio. The first round clash takes place this Wednesday (17), at 21:30 pm, at Arena da Amazônia.

Coach Tite led the final training session to determine the starting lineup for the debut. After training, the red-and-black squad traveled to Manaus, the match's venue. It's worth noting that after facing Audax-Rio, Mengão will conclude its preseason in the United States with two friendlies: against Philadelphia Union on January 21st and Orlando City on January 27th.

This morning, the Red-Black team announced the renewal of midfielder Victor Hugo's contract. The 19-year-old's new contract has been extended until December 31, 2028. In two years with the first team, the Red-Black star has played 83 games, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
