By Matheus Oliveira* - inIn an activity carried out this Tuesday (24), at the George Helal Training Center, the Flamengo squad completed their final training session before the match against Chapecoense, a match valid for the third round of the Brazilian Championship. Assistant coach Jayme de Almeida led a tactical training session on Field 1.
At the start of training, the group gathered at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), where the focus was on improving their physical fitness. After the first stage, the athletes went to field 2 and began ball practice. The goalkeepers' work focused on reaction speed exercises, with adjustments made to the pitch to deflect the ball's trajectory.
Next, the players headed to Field 1 for a tactical drill, which consisted of building plays from the defenders through all areas of the field, all the way to the attack, with an emphasis on the midfield. During the activity, it was time to tackle set pieces, both offensive and defensive.
The red-and-black squad traveled to Volta Redonda early this evening. Tomorrow, at 21 p.m., Flamengo vs. Chapecoense will play at Raulino de Oliveira.
