Flamengo faces Icasa in a friendly match in Ceará

Having qualified for the third round of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo is preparing for this year's next national challenge: the Campeonato Brasileiro. In addition to training hard at the George Helal Training Center, the team will play a friendly against Icasa in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará.
After the match, Rubro-Negro heads to Atibaia, where they will stay from Monday (04.05) to Saturday (09.05), and will debut on Sunday (10.05) in the Brasileirão, against São Paulo.
How to watch: Tickets and streaming
Tickets are on sale until this Saturday (02.05). Advance purchases are made at the Praxedão Training Center, located at Rua Frei Damião, 1720A, in the Lagoa Seca neighborhood. Tickets purchased in advance for general and social admission cost R$100; special admission tickets cost R$200.

On February 10, 1974, Flamengo faced Icasa for the only time in history, also in a friendly match. On that occasion, in a match played at Mauro Sampaio Stadium in Fortaleza, Flamengo emerged victorious with a huge 7-1 lead. The score reflected the quality of the team's great players on the field: Zico and Dario scored three times each, and Paulinho Carioca rounded off the scoring. Defending the Sacred Mantle were Jayme de Almeida and Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who are now assistant coaches and head coaches.
"It was one of the first friendlies we played that year, as the team was being assembled for the championship. It was fantastic, we were very well received. We had a great team, with a lot of attacking power. We played a great game and the affection from the nation was incredible. I didn't have this idea yet, I was just starting out at the club, so getting to know the city and the people there was really cool. It was a very new and memorable experience for me," recalled Jayme de Almeida.
Preparation
The team trained hard this week, doing intense physical exercises and working in two shifts. The striker Eduardo praised the strength of the cast red-black, while Anderson Pico e Stonecutters stated that they have high expectations for the Brazilian Championship and the rest of the season. The midfielder assured that when it comes to the Sacred Mantle, they have one thought. "When we wear the Flamengo jersey, we always think about the title. The Brazilian Championship is tough, but we want to have a good campaign and stay up there. Vanderlei is experienced, so he gives us even more confidence," he said.
On Labor Day, the team had no rest and worked in the morning at the George Helal Training Center.
