Flamengo faces Maringá this Thursday in the Copa do Brasil debut
The first leg of the third round will be played at Willie Davids Stadium, at 20 pm, in Maringá
By Romulo Paranhos - inToday is debut day, Nation! This Thursday (13), Flamengo begins its journey in the 2023 Copa do Brasil in search of its fifth title. The Rubro-Negro will face Maringá, at 20 pm, at the Willie Davids stadium, in Paraná, for the first leg of the Third phase of the competition.
The Flamengo team will be led by the Under-20 coach, Mario Jorge. He will be without left-back Filipe Luís, who has calf pain, and Chilean Vidal, who is recovering from elbow edema. Arrascaeta, Matheuzinho, and Erick Pulgar also remained in Rio de Janeiro treating their respective injuries.
Flamengo is the current champion of the Copa do Brasil. In the last edition, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) faced Corinthians in the final, winning their fourth title on penalties (6-5), after goalless draws in Itaquera and a 1-1 draw at the Maracanã.
