Flamengo submits documents to the CBF
The club's legal vice president went to the entity and filed a request for recognition of the 1987 title.

Flamengo took the first step towards recognizing the 1987 Brazilian champion title. This Friday (16.04), Flamengo's legal vice president, Rafael de Piro, filed all of the Club of 13's documentation regarding that year's competition with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
The CBF had said during the week that it had never received any document, but now it has received proof that the Club of 13 considers Flamengo to be six-time Brazilian champions.
"Club dos 13 said it sent these documents at least five times, but the CBF said it never received them. In any case, now it (CBF) has everything in hand," explained Rafael de Piro, who did not meet the president of the entity.
"We filed a request for reconsideration of the CBF's decision. We presented the two minutes of the Club of 13 meetings from 88 and 97. I haven't met with Ricardo Teixeira, but I'm sure he will receive this documentation and forward it to the organization's legal department," concluded Rafael de Piro.
Among the documents submitted by the legal vice president are the minutes of the 88 meeting, which recognizes Flamengo and Internacional as champions and runners-up that year, without the need for a crossover with Sport and Guarani; the minutes of the extraordinary meeting of 97, determining that the two clubs (Flamengo and Sport) did not need to face each other and that, therefore, they are the 87 champions; and the 2007 letter, reinforcing the decision of the 1997 meeting.
Last Thursday (15.04), Flamengo president Patricia Amorim stated that the club would not rest until its title was recognized. This was the first action after the director's announcement.
