In its debut in the Third Phase of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo beat Coritiba 1-0 on Thursday night (10), at Couto Pereira Stadium. The Rubro-Negro's goal was scored by Rodrigo Muniz. With the result, Mais Querido will have the advantage of a draw in the second leg, in Rio de Janeiro, to advance to the next phase.  

The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack, and just one minute in, Vitinho took a dangerous free kick. Wilson palmed it away. Three minutes later, Diego unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, again forcing the goalkeeper into a great save.

With more momentum, the red-and-black team exchanged passes quickly and got forward well. In the 15th minute, Mengão opened the scoring! After a corner kick from Vitinho, Rodrigo Muniz rose higher than the opposing defense and headed the ball into the back of the net: 1-0.

With the advantage, the Mais Querido team had the freedom to work possession and exchange passes in the attacking half. In the 42nd minute, Muniz scored Flamengo's second goal, but was flagged for offside. The center forward's position was legal! In the last minute, Filipe Luís delivered a tight cross, and the ball nearly went in. Dominant throughout the first half, Flamengo went into halftime ahead.

In the second half, Flamengo returned with the same intensity, looking to extend their lead. Coritiba, in turn, made three changes that improved their attacking performance. In the 16th minute, Vitinho made a good play, firing a powerful shot from the edge of the box, but Wilson made the save in two attempts.

For the rest of the match, Fla managed the result and left the field with a good result. Now, the two teams will face each other again next Wednesday (16), at Maracanã, to decide the classification for the round of XNUMX.  

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Sunday (13) to face América-MG, at 16 pm, at Maracanã. The confrontation is valid for the third round of the Brasileirão.
