Last season's final victory guaranteed Flamengo a direct spot in the CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage. Under Maurício Barbieri, Flamengo will attempt to repeat their feat of 2017 and debut in the Brazilian Championship with an away win. Kick-off begins at 19 p.m.
Mais Querido had two weeks to prepare for this commitment, and goalkeeper Diego Alves highlighted the importance of this time to make some adjustments.
"The two weeks were welcome to improve the physical side, work with Maurício and prepare well. I think at that point it was important to have these two weeks," said the number 1.

VICTORY X FLAMENGO
Interestingly, Vitória was the opponent with whom Flamengo ended its participation in the 2017 edition. On that occasion, the Mais Querido won 2-1, with goals from Rafael Vaz and Diego.
