Another week of training began this Sunday (15) at Ninho do Urubu. The red-black squad continues the intense routine of preparation for the 2017 season, improving both the physical and technical aspects, something that occurred again in the work carried out in the morning period.
Initially, the athletes completed training sessions to prepare for the on-field workout. At Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center, EXOS consultant Michael Minthorne led a series of exercises focused on muscle activation and injury prevention. The group then went to the Field 3 pitch to warm up.
After the physical activity led by coach Daniel Gonçalves, the squad went to Field 4 at Ninho do Urubu to begin ball practice. In the first part of the session, coach Zé Ricardo's team performed technical work focused on quick passing between four players, while two others sought interceptions within the perimeter marked on the field.
Wrapping up the morning's training, it was time for playmaking drills, culminating in finishing. Divided into two groups, the matches took place between attacking and defending duos, with a maximum time limit of 8 seconds to complete the plays.
Also this Sunday, midfielder Rômulo arrived to tour the facilities at Ninho do Urubu. The Mais Querido's newest addition will be training with the rest of the squad and will become part of the club's preparations for the 2017 season.
