Flamengo conducts tactical training ahead of clash against Grêmio

By Matheus Oliveira - inDuring a training session held this Friday (19), Zé Ricardo led a tactical drill with the players ahead of the team's next match, against Grêmio. Analyzing the opponent's characteristics during the activity, the coach outlined some of the formations the team will likely adopt in the match and defined the game plan. Next, it was time to work on offensive and defensive set pieces. Finally, part of the group continued onto the pitch to practice free kicks.
After muscle activation work at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), the squad headed to Field 1 for a warm-up. This activity consisted of dividing the group into three teams, with two of them competing with passing and movement exercises.

Next, tactical training began, held on the same pitch. Zé Ricardo led specific drills based on the Grêmio team's playing style, strengths, and weaknesses. Guiding the players throughout the activity, the coach demonstrated how to build plays and how to regroup defensively when possession is lost.
Next, it was time for set-piece practice. Positioning adjustments were made during corner kicks, both offensively and defensively. At the end of the day's activities, part of the group remained on Field 1 to practice free kicks. The four goalkeepers in the squad participated, taking turns defending the goal.
Flamengo continues preparations for the match against Grêmio, next Sunday (21). The match will be played at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília, and will start at 11 am.
