The team took the lead twice, but ultimately allowed the home team to equalize at 2-2.

For the seventh time in this edition of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo returns from a trip to Rio de Janeiro with a point in the bag. This Wednesday (November 03.11rd), the red-and-blacks faced Ceará, who had only lost one game at Castelão in the competition. And the team from Gávea came close to victory, but couldn't maintain the lead and ended up drawing 2-2 (Welinton and Ronaldo Angelim scored for Fla).

With this result, the team from Gávea reaches 40 points, maintaining its 13th position, with eight consecutive games without a loss. Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday (November 07.11th), against Atlético Paranaense, at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, in Volta Redonda.

A thrilling draw.
The goalkeepers were the main protagonists of the first half. Michel Alves and Marcelo Lomba ended up contributing to their opponents' goals in the first 45 minutes. Flamengo opened the scoring just one minute into the game. After a corner kick, the Ceará goalkeeper parried the ball, it fell to Diego Maurício, who passed it to defender Welinton who shot low and made it 1-0.

The goal energized the Flamengo fans, who almost scored a second in the seventh minute through Juan, after another corner kick. From then on, however, having recovered from the initial shock, the home crowd began to push Ceará forward, who proved why they have one of the best home records in the Brazilian Championship. The game then became very competitive – and exciting.

Attacking relentlessly, Vozão almost equalized in the 25th minute when Magno Alves hit a beautiful low shot from outside the area that struck the post. And two minutes later, he didn't miss. From a Boiadeiro cross, Marcelo Lomba didn't come out of his goal well, and the ball fell to Ceará's number 96, who struck a beautiful, unstoppable shot into the top corner, tying the score.

History repeats itself
The final stage had the same characteristics as the first: both teams sought to attack from the start, making the game unpredictable and electrifying. To try to give Flamengo a new dynamic, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo made changes to the team in the 17th minute: he brought on Val Baiano and Marquinhos in place of Diogo and Diego Maurício. It worked. Five minutes later, Flamengo regained the lead.

At 22, Renato delivered a beautiful cross to Ronaldo Angelim, who previously played for Ceará and became a football idol at Fortaleza, the biggest rival of the Alvinegro (Ceará). With a stylish header, the number 4 made it 2-1 for Flamengo and celebrated wildly, to the delight of the thousands of Ceará-based Flamengo fans present at the Castelão stadium.

But the celebration was short-lived. At 37 minutes, Magno Alves took advantage of another rebound from Marcelo Lomba to equalize and send the black-and-white side of the Castelão stadium into raptures. After that, both teams slowed down a bit and the score remained 2-2. At 47 minutes, Correa still had a good chance inside the area, but tried to pass to Renato and ended up missing the pass.
