Flamengo finalizes preparations to face Vasco in the Carioca semifinal

Mengão finished its preparations this Friday morning at Ninho do Urubu to face Vasco da Gama in the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca. Coach Filipe Luís led a tactical drill to determine the starting eleven that will take the field for the derby.

Flamengo won the first leg 1-0 at Engenhão Stadium, with a goal from Bruno Henrique, and could lose by up to one goal at Maracanã Stadium, still qualifying for the grand final. Flamengo has the advantage due to its better record in the Guanabara Cup.

Flamengo and Vasco face off at 17:45 p.m. this Saturday at Maracanã Stadium. TV Globo, Sportv, and Premiere will broadcast the match live. 

Flamengo and Vasco have faced each other 426 times in history, with 166 Flamengo wins, 121 draws, and 139 for the opponent. Flamengo has scored 568 goals and Vasco has scored 530. 

In the other semifinal of the 2025 Cariocão Championship, on Sunday, Volta Redonda and Fluminense face off. Fluminense won the first leg at the Maracanã stadium 4-0.
