Everything is ready for the current champion's debut in the Libertadores! This Tuesday (4), on Ecuadorian soil, Mengão finalized its preparations for its debut in the continental competition against Aucas. The match, valid for the first round of Group A, takes place this Wednesday (5), at 19 pm (Brasília time), at the Gonzalo Pozo Stadium, in Quito-EQU.

Under the command of coach Vitor Pereira, the squad performed a physical and tactical exercise at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium, at an altitude of 2.850 meters. The club's manager will be without midfielder Thiago Maia, who remained in Rio de Janeiro. Defender Pablo, on the other hand, traveled with the delegation and is available to the coach.

This will be the first time Flamengo and Aucas have faced each other in history. Flamengo is entering its 19th edition of the Libertadores and has a positive record in its debuts in the competition. In 18 matches, they have won seven, drawn seven, and lost only four.

Mengão is in Group A alongside Racing from Argentina, Ñublense from Chile, and Aucas from Ecuador. The Rubro-Negro team is seeking its fourth Libertadores title.
