Flamengo finalizes preparations for the clash against Vélez Sarsfield in the Libertadores

On the afternoon of this Wednesday (26), at Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo held the last training session before the match against Vélez Sarsfield (ARG), which will be played tomorrow (27), at 21 pm, at Maracanã. The match is valid for the last round of Group G of the Libertadores, where Mais Querido leads with eleven points won in five games.
Coach Rogério Ceni led a tactical session with the club's players. Goalkeeper César, who is recovering from knee surgery, took to the field and performed light training with the club's physiotherapists. Diego Alves participated in training as usual and was named in the squad for Thursday's match.
Already qualified for the round of 16, Flamengo will secure first place in the group with a win or draw. The first and only match between Flamengo and Vélez in the Libertadores took place this year in the first round of the competition. Playing in Argentina, Mengão prevailed, winning 3-2, with goals from Willian Arão, Gabi, and Arrascaeta.
