The game
Seeking their first win in the Carioca Championship, Flamengo started the match looking to attack, pressuring Bangu in their own half. In the eighth minute, Moretti made a harsh tackle on Rayan Lucas and received a straight red card, leaving Bangu ten men down early in the match.
In the 14th minute, the opposing defense misplayed the ball. Wallace Yan stole the ball and passed it to Guilherme, who hit the post. A minute later, after a corner, Lorran struck first time into the corner, but the goalkeeper jumped to make the save. A red-and-black blitz! In the 16th minute, Zé Welinton took another corner, and Pablo headed it unmarked over Victor Brasil, but the ball hit the crossbar.
In the final minutes of the first half, Mengão opened the scoring at Castelão! After a corner kick from Bangu, Guilherme led a counterattack and passed to Lorran, who passed the ball to the middle of the box for Felipe Teresa to tap in: 1-0. The red-and-black team went into halftime with the advantage.
For the second half, coach Cléber dos Santos brought on João Alves in place of Lorran. In the seventh minute, Flamengo doubled their lead! Felipe Teresa played a one-two with Carlinhos, received the ball back in the box, and crossed perfectly for Wallace Yan, unmarked, to tap it into the net: 2-0.
A few minutes later, Mengão scored their third goal through Carlinhos! On another counterattack, Pablo intercepted the ball with a header, and it fell to Guilherme, who sped down the field. He passed it perfectly to the number 28, who slotted it into the corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 3-0.
And the Ninho Boys didn't slow down and scored the fourth goal in the 18th minute. Daniel Sales crossed low into the middle of the box and Guilherme hit it first time into the corner to turn the victory into a rout.
In the final stretch, Rubro-Negro added a fifth, again through Carlinhos. Following a corner, Pablo headed the ball, but the goalkeeper saved it. On the rebound, the center forward controlled the ball and struck powerfully to extend the lead even further, giving the match its final score.
