In the first leg of the round of 6 of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo took no notice of their opponent and thrashed ABC 0-29 on Thursday night (5), at Maracanã. Mengão's goals were scored by Arrascaeta, Gabi (twice), Bruno Henrique, Donato (own goal) and Michael. With the result, Mengão will have a very comfortable advantage for the return leg, which takes place next Thursday (XNUMX), at Arena das Dunas, in Natal-RN.  

The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack, and just five minutes in, they created a great chance through Gabigol. Arrascaeta found the No. 9, who burst into the box and fired a powerful shot. The ball went just wide of the post.

With more possession, the red-and-black team exchanged passes in the attacking midfield and created a few opportunities to open the scoring. In the 22nd minute, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) once again appeared with ease in attack. Gabigol received the ball on the right, cut inside, and took a shot, but the ball went wide.

After much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring in the 27th minute. After a beautiful play by Diego, who spun around the marker, the ball fell to Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan controlled the ball, chose the corner, and slotted it past the goalkeeper: 1-0. Five minutes later, Flamengo scored their second goal. Bruno Henrique crossed from the left, ABC's defense cleared, and Everton Ribeiro collected the rebound at the edge of the box. The midfielder passed it to Gabigol, who fired a superb shot into the left corner: 2-0.

Mengão was on fire and extended their lead even further! In the 41st minute, Arrascaeta burst into the box and played a one-two with Bruno Henrique, who fired a beautiful shot into the right corner: 3-0. And there was still time for another before the half! Arrascaeta appeared well on the right and crossed into the box for Gabigol to head into the back of the net: 4-0.

In the second half, with a comfortable lead in his favor, coach Renato Gaúcho made four substitutions at once to give the squad some rotation and rest some players. In the 29th minute, Flamengo scored their fifth goal! In a quick transition to attack, Gabigol passed to Thiago Maia, who entered the box and attempted a low pass. The ball deflected off Donato and softly went into the net: 5-0.

Even with the huge advantage gained, Mengão didn't take their foot off the gas and went in search of the sixth, which came with Michael in the 38th minute. Vitinho launched the ball into the box, ABC's defense got in a mess and the little red-black robot completed into the empty net, decreeing Flamengo's rout at Maraca and practically finishing the round of XNUMX clash.
