A historic day has arrived for Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. This Friday (30), at 19:30 pm, the Most Beloved in the World officially inaugurates the new module of the George Helal Training Center, which will serve the entire professional football delegation. With R$23 million invested in the best infrastructure in the country, the Rubro-Negro will have the best equipment on the market. The budget for the construction, carried out by Lafem Engenharia, included all the proceeds from the sale of the building in Morro da Viúva. The inauguration event at Ninho do Urubu will be open to invited guests and the press only.

"The new Football Training Center clearly represents the progress we've made in all areas of Flamengo's operations. Furthermore, it signals the continuation of this process of development, consistently and permanently. From there, we'll have all the conditions to achieve the standard of excellence that Flamengo so deserves," assured president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello.

In 2016, Flamengo unveiled an ambitious project. Aiming to have one of the best training centers in the country, the club invested heavily in the complete, top-of-the-line infrastructure of the George Helal Training Center, known as Ninho do Urubu. Thanks to the renovations and planning, the club now has a facility for its professional soccer team. The module, which will now be occupied by the Flamengo youth teams, features a reception area, a game room, a lounge area, an auditorium, a press room, fully equipped dormitories, a cafeteria, and parking.

However, always striving for the excellence and infrastructure that a club the size of Flamengo deserves, Flamengo wanted more. The new professional module at Ninho do Urubu boasts the best Flamengo has to offer, making the Training Center the most modern in Brazil and one of the best in the world.

The total area covers 5.000 m² on two floors, with separate access for the players and coaching staff, and another for the media professionals who follow the club's day-to-day activities. There are 42 suites, including 36 singles and six doubles. The space also features fitness rooms and 14 hydrotherapy tubs, a swimming pool, nutrition, physiology, a medical department, observation balconies, two auditoriums with capacity for 50 people each, a common area, a cafeteria for 70 people, a locker room, and a linen room. To welcome those arriving, a statue of Zico and a bust of Maestro Júnior stand in a large reflecting pool, in addition to the entire visual appearance completely customized in red and black.

"The new facility will certainly be a reference and a milestone. It will be one of the greatest legacies we can leave Flamengo. Many people have contributed and worked here. The guy who bought the bracelet, the shirt, and the brick back when the land was purchased in 1984, and everyone who worked on the renovation of the first field. So, all Flamengo fans can feel part of this emblematic achievement that marks our history. Flamengo's history of being a laughingstock in terms of structure is a distant past. Today, we are a benchmark and will have the best of both worlds: the best youth and professional structures," exclaimed Alexandre Wrobel, Vice President of Assets for the Mais Querido.
 
Recently, soccer players visited the final stages of construction and were amazed by everything being prepared for the upcoming season. "I arrived here in 2009, and we had very little. We trained on Field 1, I still remember that, and now we have an excellent training facility. For us, having a good gym, a place to eat, and work makes a huge difference. I've heard this from players who played abroad. The facilities here are excellent and on par with other clubs. Knowing that we'll have a new module with a rest area, for example, will make a huge difference for the players. It's really cool to see Flamengo's evolution," said goalkeeper César, who has experienced several stages of Flamengo's development since his arrival.

"It's very good. From what we've seen, it will have everything we need at a high level. I hope this is reflected on the field with many titles. It's a great pleasure to know that Flamengo is on par with the world's biggest clubs in terms of structure. We have to congratulate the club for everything they've done, from this training center that will be used for the youth academy to the professional module. We won't be inferior to any other team in the world," said defender and idol Juan.
