On Tuesday morning (8), Flamengo returned to Ninho do Urubu and continued preparing for the return of the Brasileirão after the break for the Club World Cup. In the 13th round of the national competition, Mengão faces São Paulo next Saturday (12), at 16:30 pm, at Maracanã, and seeks to remain in the lead.
Coach Filipe Luís led a tactical session to begin defining the starting lineup for the match against the São Paulo team. Beforehand, the players did physical training in the gym. Athlete Léo Pereira spoke with Flamengo TV about the training period before the return of the Brasileirão.
"We're coming back from a very strong world-class competition, and I believe we're even stronger. We know and strongly believe in the team's potential for the rest of the season. These days were good for us to train and refine some details. It gives us more confidence to return at the end of the season and have a great championship and perhaps even seek titles," said the defender.
Mengão returns to training this Wednesday morning (9) to continue its preparation.
